Standard Thermal Curtain Sizes

ECONOFROST thermal shields are stocked in standard linear lengths of 4 feet, 6 feet, and 8 feet. The standard night cover units measure a maximum of 81 inches in height.

The small gaps between night cover units when two or more night curtains are installed adjacent to each other on long refrigeration display cases are accounted for in determining actual energy savings. In general, these gaps between night covers represent an insignificant loss of energy because cold air tends to move downward rather than outward. The gaps between case covers actually help the night curtains to breathe, allowing humidity to escape from the refrigerated display case to grocery store aisles, and preventing condensation from forming on the night covers.

Custom Thermal Curtain Sizes

On request, ECONOFROST night curtains can be made in custom sizes. Standard ECONOFROST night covers are 4, 6, or 8 feet wide, but they can be custom made in widths up to 12 linear feet.
The night curtain fabric in our standard commercial refrigeration case cover units pulls out to a length of 80 inches. However, in rare circumstances such as when walk-in coolers or container-fitted coolers must be enclosed, the night curtain fabric can be custom made in lengths up to 94 inches.

If an ECONOFROST thermal shield unit needs to be shortened slightly, this can be accomplished with an electric aluminum cutter to trim the non-mechanized end of the night curtain. Instructions on how to shorten a night cover are available on request from ECONOFROST.
